Bag Story: Originally designed as a vanity case, the Louis Vuitton Deauville is one of those vintage silhouettes that beautifully captures the house's heritage in travel and practical luxury.
With its structured shape, signature Monogram canvas and rounded Vachetta leather handles, the Deauville was designed to carry beauty essentials in an organised yet elegant way. Its spacious interior and multiple compartments made it a practical companion for travel, but its timeless silhouette has since found a second life as an everyday handbag.
And honestly, it's easy to see why.
There's something particularly charming about the Deauville's slightly boxy silhouette. It feels nostalgic without looking dated, and its generous proportions make it a wonderful alternative to the more commonly seen Speedy.
What makes this particular piece even lovelier is its beautiful honey-coloured Vachetta patina. Over time, Louis Vuitton's natural leather develops a warmer, deeper tone, giving each vintage piece its own character. The golden patina against the classic brown Monogram canvas is a combination we particularly love at Once Dear.
Condition Disclaimer: Good vintage condition. This beautiful vintage Deauville remains in good overall condition, with natural signs of age and previous use. The Vachetta leather has developed a lovely, even-looking honey patina, with a few barely noticeable watermarks on the handles and minor dirt near the hardware attachment points, which are largely concealed during normal use. Also has some wear on the hardwares that is consistent with the age. Zipper works well.
There are some general signs of wear consistent with its vintage nature, along with some dirt and marks to the interior.
Importantly, the interior has no stickiness, and there is no noticeable mould or mould-related odour, making this a particularly lovely vintage find.
Overall, the bag presents beautifully, with its classic Monogram canvas, structured silhouette and naturally aged leather giving it plenty of vintage character.
